Just For Fun on Friday at The Fit Shack - 4 Things

WritingHere’s something just for fun on Friday at The Fit Shack - I don’t do these very often however some bloggy friends of mine over at Divine Purpose Unleashed (CK and Michelle, be sure to check out their inspiring site!) tagged me for a response.

They wrote a post on a “4 things” theme and asked me to follow up with my own answers. Hope you enjoy learning a little bit more about me, the blogger behind The Fit Shack. ;)

4 Jobs I’ve Had
(ok, so they’re my first jobs and they just happen to be in the food industry, and a lot of fast and processed food at that…)

  1. Beach stand hot dog and snack seller.
  2. Fast food burger and fry pusher.
  3. Steak and seafood table busser.
  4. Grocery store processed food hawker.

What are 4 ways you know you are living your life’s purpose?

  1. When I feel joyful about the activity that I’m doing.
  2. When everything flows easily.
  3. When my guides tell me so.
  4. When I receive positive feedback from others telling me that I’ve helped.

What are 4 things you do to take really good care of yourself?

  1. Do regular cardio and strength training. My normal schedule is a minimum 30 minutes of cardio on my treadmill in my target heart rate zone (THR), 5 times a week, and 2 body sculpting sessions per week. One of those is focused on my upper body and the other is lower body.
  2. Staying off of refined sugar and white flour. These substances trigger my sugar addiction, sugar cravings, overeating, and binging - better for me to stay off of them.
  3. Drink at least 100oz of clean water per day. Clean water meaning none of those bottled, sugared waters but just plain ‘ole water.
  4. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night - well, I aim to, need some work on that lately!

What are the 4 events that have most formed how you live your life today?

  1. Not finishing college when I was a kid.
  2. 911 (caused a career change).
  3. Going back to school to finish my degree.
  4. World travel in general.

What are 4 hot springs you have been to? (be sure to include directions!)

Here are 2 that I’ve been to, and 2 I’d like to go to:

  1. Yellowstone National Park
  2. Homosassa Springs, Florida
  3. Bath, England (haven’t been yet)
  4. Verde Valley, Arizona (haven’t been yet)

The next go around

I’m tagging 4 bloggers to continue on by answering the above (you can leave out the one about the hot springs if you’d like to) along with my add-ons:

  1. What are 4 things you do to keep your motivation up to work out and eat healthy every day?
  2. Name 4 people who have been the most influential in motivating you to change your eating and exercise habits.
  3. What are your top 4 reasons for staying off of refined sugar and white flour?
  4. List 4 ways that blogging has helped you either attain or maintain a higher level of health and fitness.

You’ve Been Tagged!

  1. Alexa at 10 Steps to Weight Loss
  2. Jen at Semi Charmed Wife
  3. Susan at Nutrition, Fitness, Life
  4. Jacqueline at Fitarella

Oops - The Rules

Almost forgot to give you “the rules”. ;)

  • Link to the person who tagged you
  • Post the rules on your blog
  • Share 4 things in these themes
  • Tag 4 random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs
  • Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

That’s it, looking forward to the answers from the 4 bloggers I tagged - have fun with it!

Oh, JoLynn, now I’m really going to have to THINK! ;)

I’d love to visit Bath too. I’ve only been to the southern part of England, and I loved it! Would love to return and visit the entire UK.

    I love your answer:
When you guides tell you so. I’d love to know what that means…
And the 911 ..? What is that?
All I have are more questions!
    Thanks for playing along.

Maybe you wrote about this, but I can’t find it. Tell me how 911 caused a career change… What impact did this have? And of course, I am interested to know if it led you to living your Divine Purpose?

    Hi Michelle and CK,

When I meditate, get quiet and actually tune in and listen (means I have to get quiet ;) ), then I can determine whether I’m on track or not. No, I don’t hear voices and the main thing I go by is my emotions. When I feel good and feel joyful about what I’m doing then I know I’m on purpose. Otherwise if I don’t but there is something I need to do, I find a way to make it fun so I feel joyful doing it. ;)

Re: 911, that’s September 11, 2001. Caused a career change for me, and this is why I went back to school. I don’t want to get into all of that as it could be an entirely different blog topic, but I did go through a big transition, which is Fine - everything always works out for me in the end. :)

    Hi Nadine,

Don’t regret, just go back! :) Whether you’re 25 or 55 it’s never too late. I went back for a career change but mainly because I actually had something I wanted to learn more about and get a degree in - IT. I really enjoy school. :)
