A Wild Ride with Wonkiness at The Fit Shack
I love technology. I love the Internet. I love Wordpress. I love my blog…..hey, am I talking out loud? Well, now you know what my mantra has been these past couple of days.
If you noticed anything strange going on here at The Fit Shack over the past few days (like database errors, no pages, half pages, or any other wonkiness), let me tell ya, it wasn’t your imagination! I moved my site to a different host over the weekend and if this wasn’t a good exercise in emotional eating, I don’t know what would be. There were ups and downs, but finally everything appears to be “back to normal” - at least on the front end. I still have issues on the back end where I write posts and such and actually, this is the first time I’ve even had the ability to post anything since I migrated my site. I also think there’s an issue with comments, which I haven’t been able to delve into yet, but I will be working on that, too. **Update - the comments appear to be working now.
One thing that I learned from this experience is that it would have been better if I’d posted about the move before I did it so that you’d know what was going on. In my wishful thinking I didn’t think it would take so long, and now I’ve learned a good lesson. I’ve gotta say though, that my new host Bluehost has been very helpful - I think I’ve talked to most of their tech reps over the past few days, which is a great option to have (phone support). So far I’m quite pleased with their service.
While there are still some things I need to iron out here at The Fit Shack, I wanted to let you know what’s been going on, which is also why you didn’t get a post from me yesterday - yep, that’s the whole story. I even had a great post ready to go for St. Patrick’s Day, a healthy recipe I wanted to share with you, but I’ll save that for next week.
Actually, next week’s posts (except on Wed. when I give you my emotional eating experiment update) will be focused on some of my favorite 6-Week Body Makeover recipes. This is in response to the feedback you gave me in the Roadblocks to Weight Loss Success poll. You shared that your #1 Roadblock to your weight loss success is food addiction, and since I’ve learned that when I enjoy my food that doesn’t contain the addictive ingredients (refined sugar and flour are the top ones), it’s a whole lot easier to stay away from the addictive stuff.
I also have a few more exciting things planned here at The Fit Shack, things I’ve been working on behind the scenes and things I’d rather be working on now but cannot until I get the technical kinks worked out on my site. I do plan to be implementing the other changes no later than the next couple of weeks, if not a whole lot sooner. Depends on how quickly everything else goes.
So here we go, on with the show! ![]()

I am beginning to love WP, too - especially with the auto-posting feature. BTW, your comment page seems to be working fine now.
