Hi Melissa,

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed my post! You're right, there just isn't a quick fix for weight loss, and many do end up at a higher weight than where they started after regaining what they lost.

It takes a whole body, mind, spirit change to keep that weight off and make healthy living a lifestyle. A short term diet isn't going to give anyone that. ;)

Hi Meg,

Very true, when you add up all the money you spend over and over on those quick fixes (because they don't work), that is a lot of money!

Now I did spend $100.00 on my 6-Week Body Makeover kit....that was in 2004 (still costs the same today) and it gave me everything I needed to learn how to cook whole foods, live a healthy lifestyle, and how to exercise smart. That's a minuscule investment in my health because I'm still using the same materials (and resistance bands) today. But, that's not a quick fix, it's a lifestyle program.

Great post with lots of good thoughts! I completely agree with what you are saying about the futility of the "quick fix." Nobody wants to lose the same ten pounds over and over (and over) again. And what too frequently happens when we get sucked into the diet mentality is that, over time, we GAIN weight and end up with more to lose than we started out with! Thanks also for the great reminder of the power that comes from learning to tune in to ourselves and learn from ourselves about what we need to move forward. Slow and steady really does create enduring change.

A quick fix entails a large amount of money. Why spend when you can shed off naturally?
