Hi Sharon,

This is JoLynn, the author of this blog, but I can point you in the direction of how to contact Richard directly. :)

You can click here to send him an email, or you could call him on Sunday's when he broadcasts live on Sirius. If you don't have a radio yet (hey, get one, it's soooo worth it even if all you do is listen to Richard on Sundays! ;) ), you could still call him between 3pm and 6pm EST on Sundays. Now I can't say that he will always broadcast (like on some holiday weekends they might not), but 9 out of 10 times he's there.

Just call 1-888-4-102-102 during that time to get on air with Richard. He's just wonderful, although I bet that he'll want to talk to your sister herself instead of you, meaning that she needs to be ready to be helped, know what I mean?

I sincerely hope that everything works out for your sister, and for you!! It's clear that you love her very much and only want the best for her. Let me know how it goes if you end up getting in touch with Richard! :)

Dear Richard,

I am writing to you about my sister. She is very overweight, and a couple of weeks ago, said she didn't think that she would get out of the house again. Her legs swell up, get very red, and sometimes develops open sores.

She is very smart, is an R.N. that worked at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. but hasn't been able to work for several years. I have metastatic cancer, and wish that she could get on the road to recovery before I leave this earth. She and her husband have three adult children. Glenn is menatally disabled, lives at home, and will be 30 years old this summer. Claudia is a graduate of a local university with majors in Spanish and physics, and an MBA in education from another university. I'm impressed. She has two very young daughters. Sarah the youngest, is almost 22 years old and lives at home and works at Ikea. My sisters husband diesn't work, but spends alot of time working with Glenn.

I have talked to her about different weight loss programs, but she always has an excuse or reasons for not joining. At one time she mentioned that the only person she would be interested in talking with was you. I don't know if you ever write e-mails of encouragement, or what could be done to get her started, but anything would be appreciated. She doesn't know that I am writing.

Incidentally, several years ago, I was working in the bakery at Aamodt's Apple Farm when you were there, and our picture was in the newspaper. Thank you for your time, Sharon
