The 6WBMO Weight Loss Support Forums - An Excellent Way to Stay Motivated!
This is the third post in a series on how I stay motivated on the Six Week Body Makeover plan. So far this week I’ve shared with you how the results I get are an easy motivator, and the fact that I love the food I eat!
Today I’d like to share with you the excellent support that is available to you free online if you’re following the Six Week Body Makeover. I mentioned the recipe exchange in yesterday’s post, and actually this is just a part of a large forum that includes support groups. These groups are free to join, and some are set up as games to keep you motivated, on track, and having fun while losing weight. The only “qualification” needed to join a group (besides any sign-up dates posted) is that you have your 6WBMO kit, or are expecting it in the mail.
The more support that you give to the members of your weight loss support group, the more that you get out of being in the group. There are some wonderful people out there, going through the same struggles that you are with making changes to their eating and exercise regime, and when you all come together in to accomplish positive goals, you’ll be surprised at just how much you can accomplish.
I just can’t express how helpful the support that I’ve received in the groups I’ve been a part of has been. Lately I’ve been spending that time here on my blog, but even so, I have always done better with my goals when I’ve been in a 6WBMO support group. I highly recommend joining one to help you stay focused on your goal. Now, if you would like to join one of the support groups and get started on losing weight and getting fit, but you don’t have the Six Week Body Makeover kit yet, you can get it here:

hey everyone,
i just joined and wanted to say hi.
Hi, and welcome! Are you doing the 6WBMO? Let me know if you have any questions!
Hi! I just found this forum and it looks really cool.
Now, I gotta run off and read some posts.
Hi Heidi,
The 6WBMO forums are awesome, I need to get back over there myself (been spending most of my time here on my blog
)… they are a wonderful place to get some online support when you’re following the 6WBMO. I can’t say enough positive things about the forum!
Hi JoLynn and everyone,
I’ve been on the 6WBMO for several months now and have lost 30 pounds…but I’ve gained back about 5 pounds in the past month.
I was happy to find this blog (this was actually my first time searching blogs) because I really do like the 6WBMO…it works for me like nothing else ever has. But, I’ve gotten discouraged and need some help. I’ve been to the forums…and even tried NBU a couple of times. The first time I dropped out about half way through…I know, that’s a big pet peeve of many people there. But, my RA was brand new and the other women in the dorm seemed very cliquey. I know it sounds dumb and it was probably all in my head, but I just didn’t get the feeling that anyone really liked me. The next semester of NBU, I tried it again under a different username and actually made it all the way through. This RA was a real pro…had been around the forums for a long time and was really good at encouraging everyone and responding to everyone’s posts. So, I felt like someone actually cared…and that made it much better for me emotionally. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the same results physically. I only lost about 5 pounds during that session…the same 5 pounds that I’ve gained back. And, I know why…and I’m ashamed to even admit it but, I cheated…ALOT. I would post my stats like I was supposed to but I wasn’t totally honest when I did. I think I just wanted everyone to like me so much that I made it look like I was totally POP and getting great results so that I could help the dorm win challenges. So, by the end of the 6 weeks my stats said that I had lost over 10 pounds.
So now, I’m kind of stuck because I really like the 6WBMO and I know I’ll get great results if I do it properly. I just feel so guilty right now and, as much as I like the way NBU is, I don’t want to sign up for it again if I’m not going to be honest when I do it. I know that it’s a decision that I have to make myself. I guess I was just hoping to hear from someone who, maybe, has done the same thing but somehow was able to get back on track. If you have any suggestions, I’d really appreciate them. Thank you.
Hi, thanks so much for your comments and your questions! I actually wrote a whole post about this for you which you can read here.
Please don’t give up on the 6WBMO, we have to let go of the past and move on today. I need to do the same thing because I’ve been stuck in regretting regaining weight that I had lost. And, you’ve done great by losing what you have already!!
I hope my post helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
