It’s Never Over Until You Decide It’s Over

It’s easy to give up on yourself, living in today’s society, surrounded by great tasting processed food. The food doesn’t help your energy and it causes overweight, but it tastes good! Even more so, if you’re very busy, stressed out, and short on time, you might just think that you don’t have the time to live a healthy lifestyle.

Even if you think like this today, I encourage you to not lose hope. I know that the quick and easy food tastes good and it can make you feel better for a short period (food creates chemical reactions in the body, just like anything else you ingest), however as we all know, obesity is on the rise, and shows no signs of subsiding. I don’t believe that we’ve ever had so many overweight people on Earth as we do today. You simply cannot tell me that this doesn’t have anything to do with how the food industry has changed in a short 40 years and influenced today’s lifestyle!

Believe me, I’ve had my own struggles, growing up with this pre-packaged, “keep ‘em coming back for more” food, as well as dealing with the overweight that comes with it. Simply put, our bodies aren’t built for processing this stuff efficiently. It slows down your metabolism and gets stored as fat, plain and simple.

So what’s the solution? You’re busy, you might think you don’t have time to cook, and you don’t want to change your lifestyle. Well, if you want a different result, you’ve got to take a different action. If you continue with the same actions that you’ve been taking that led to your overweight, then you will get the same result. You’ve got to decide that you want to change, that you want to put yourself first, that you want to make the time to eat healthy and exercise. Does this take work? Yes! Does it take learning something new? Yes! Can it be done? Absolutely!

I don’t care it you haven’t taken action yet to lose weight, take care of your health, and get fit. As long as you haven’t decided that you can’t do it, or you’ve given up, then this game isn’t over! You can decide at any time that now is the time to change, to learn something new, and to make positive lifestyle changes. As long as you don’t say that it’s over, it’s not over. ;)

I totally agree. So much of staying fit and losing weight is a mental thing. You have to keep a positive attitude and be determined to stick with what you are doing.

Hi Weight Master!

It is sooo true, weight loss and weight maintenance is mainly a mental game. We have so many emotions tied into how we look, our self-image, not to mention how we think about food and the meanings we give it…meanings that are far beyond that of providing fuel for our body!

As long as you don’t give up on yourself though, you can always make changes, and since every action is preceded by a thought, it’s good to remember that it’s only a thought, and a thought can be changed! ;)

The problem is that people often decide that it’s over way to early. Thanks for this post.

Hi, you’re so right! There are so many stories about people giving up when literally right around the corner they would have found the treasure they were seeking. When it comes to weight loss and your health, I believe it’s so important to not allow yourself to sink into that place of “this is just how I’ll always be”. You always have an opportunity to change, you just have to choose it. ;)
