JanB, hi, thanks for your comments, that is so exciting that you can go right to your garden and pick a few leaves for your own personal tea! Also, that's great that you like Stevia. ;)

The only herbs I have growing are sage and lavender, neither of which I would like for a tea. That's an excellent idea to plant something that would turn out a good cup... maybe chammomile, that would be fun!

fitness, hi and thanks for your comments!

I'm confused though, as to which herbs you are stating are good? In my article I've written about being aware of the "dieter's teas" that contain the herbs senna, buckthorn, and that others I listed in my article above. These herbs have caused at least 4 recorded deaths...I don't think this is good and it's information that people need to be aware of.

Not all herbs are good for you, and even the ones that are (good for you) aren't necessarily healthy when used in excess. You really need to use herbs (just like anything else), with knowledge and awareness.

I loved this post. When I reach for herbal tea, I go no further than my garden. I pluck about 6-7 spearmint leaves, wash them gently and immerse them in some hot water for about 5 minutes. Then I add a half packet of Stevia (a non caloric sweetener). It is wonderful. Simply wonderful. And I know where it came from. That is nice.
