Tammy Faye’s Message - Never Give Up On Yourself

I admit that I was not a follower of Tammy Faye Messner, and sadly it has taken her illness and death for me to learn just what a positive individual she was. Here I am, striving to keep my thoughts positive and to pass positive, motivational thoughts and material on to you, and I honestly couldn’t say for certain (today, at least) that I would have been able to remain as positive as she was with all that she had to deal with!

My mom was the one who told me about her appearance on Larry King and her subsequent passing. I watched her interview online and was inspired by her strength. She wanted to do the interview to get the message across to people that she was maintaining her faith, and (I think) to be an example to others that she hadn’t given up.

I am just now learning that one of her main messages was never give up on yourself. This is a topic that I’ve written about several times (i.e.: here and here), because it is so easy to do when it comes to making healthy lifestyle changes, losing weight, and shaping up. You might feel like giving up because you successfully lost weight several times but were unsuccessful in maintaining that loss, or you might have always been overweight and find it hard to imagine yourself fit, trim, and strong.

All of this comes back to your thoughts, and if you think that it’s too late, or it’s just too hard to do, you might feel like giving up hope. However, I completely agree with Tammy Faye’s message; I don’t think you should ever give up on yourself, it’s never too late to make a change.

It was amazing seeing her positive attitude with all the things she had to deal with.

The Larry King interview was done well… but I thought the Entertainment Tonight (or was it Access Hollywood) interviews were done in bad taste for ratings.

It was SO sad to see here at 65 pounds. Cancer is such a terrible thing.

But to end a positive note… yes, we all should be inspired by her strength.

@Bryan, I agree, I think she really helped a lot of people and many will miss her.

@Mover, I agree, she was amazing how she kept her attitude so positive, especially being in such pain.

I didn’t see the ET or Access Hollywood interviews…that’s sad that they were shown in poor taste.

@kidneystones, absolutely - never, never give up on yourself! ;)
